More people than ever are looking for work that feels purposeful - roles that put them closer to the outdoors, support communities, and help protect the places they love. Yet for anyone trying to break into the outdoor sector, the path can feel confusing. Opportunities are scattered across company websites, retail job boards, adventure companies, charity networks and social media groups. It’s difficult to know where to start, and even harder to understand the full breadth of careers available.
The Wild Path was created to make that journey clearer and more accessible.
We’re a weekly outdoor-sector careers newsletter and talent community that curates roles across the full spectrum of the industry - from outdoor brands, retail and adventure providers, to activity centres, national parks, education, parks and landscaping teams, conservation and sustainability. Each Thursday, we bring together opportunities that connect people with the outdoors, whether they’re looking for seasonal work, early-career roles, operations positions, customer-facing jobs, creative and marketing posts or senior leadership roles.
Our mission is simple:
To help people find work that connects them to the outdoors and make the outdoor-sector job market more visible, more accessible and more inclusive for everyone.
This commitment to access is at the heart of The Wild Path, and we’re proud to have been commended in The Great Outdoors Magazine’s Open Outdoors Award, an award recognising organisations that widen participation, access and opportunity in the outdoors. We believe that a more inclusive outdoor sector benefits everyone - communities, businesses and the landscapes we share.
Alongside our weekly job roundups, we create resources that help people navigate the outdoor sector with confidence, and we offer personalised support to jobseekers. That includes outdoor-specific CV guidance, insights into how different parts of the industry work, and practical advice for people exploring everything from early-career roles to senior leadership and trustee positions.
We also support organisations by giving them a clear route to reach engaged, motivated candidates through our growing platform, and provide deeper talent support services. Whether someone is looking to join an outdoor brand, support youth and community programmes, work in adventure travel, contribute to sustainability and conservation, or step into operational and corporate roles that keep the sector moving, our aim is to make the next step feel clearer for both jobseekers and the employers who need them.
Alongside the jobs, we shine a light on the people behind them. Our weekly Member Spotlight shares real stories and career journeys to help others understand the diverse paths into the outdoor world - and also supports those featured in taking their next steps by giving them visibility across the sector.
The outdoor sector is expanding, diversifying and full of potential. The Wild Path exists to shine a light on that opportunity - helping people find careers that bring them closer to the wild places, communities and experiences they care about.
We’d love to connect with businesses interested in reaching new talent and people exploring outdoor-sector work. You can find us at teamwildpath.com or follow us at @teamwildpath.
